Google Will Now Tell You When Your Search Is Crap

Many times it happens that you do a search on Google and the matches are simply bad and it does not yield any results.

Sometimes you misspelled the word or simply did not understand what you are writing, which implies that this search starts with a lousy base and will surely yield content proposals very different from what you thought.

That is why Google announced that it will release a tool that will warn when the search is wrong and will also improve the classic correction of misspelled words.

“If you spell something wrong, we have systems in place to detect those misspellings and provide proper spelling predictions, so you can find web pages and information that match the words you were really looking for. We also continue to make improvements to our systems for understanding the underlying language of search, so even if you don't express something exactly as it is written online, we can still understand words and concepts in a way that ensures you can find a good match." Says Google.

In this way, those of Mountain View confirms that “as of today in the US, we are launching a new message that lets you know when Google has not been able to find anything that particularly matches your search. While you can still see the results to see for yourself if they are useful, the message is a sign that we probably have not found what you are looking for. When possible, the feature will also provide some alternative searches, as well as tips on how you could rephrase your query to better find the information you're looking for. ”

Of course, the Sundar Pichai company is quick to clarify that this message will not be habitual.

"This feature should not appear too frequently; after all, there is usually something useful we can find! But when you do, we hope it will help you save some time and get you to the information you want faster. If it turns out that what you expected to find is not on the web, you can always come back later to see if someone has created a new article or posted new information that will be helpful to you. And in the meantime, there is always more to explore," he concluded.
