The Facebook seems to be a bit jealous of the Zoom and thus presented the new free application for video conferences, Messenger Rooms, creating group video calls on Facebook, in a bid to regain lost ground and its users, who have made popular the Zoom.
This app allows up to 50 people to participate in a shared online chat, and there's also no time limit on video conferencing, which seems like a threat to Zoom. Users will be able to "get in and out" in the "room" of the Messenger tele-conference. Facebook released the app earlier than expected due to the rapid increase in video calls through Zoom.
How to use Messenger Rooms?
- To create your own Messenger Room, make sure you have downloaded the latest version of the Facebook and Messenger mobile app from the Apple Store or Google Play Store and the Messenger Desktop app from the Microsoft Store or Mac App Store.
- Then go to the application and on the "Discussions" page, there will be a new "Create Room" button. Click on it.
- Then you can set the activity for the room, such as study, privacy settings for who can find it and an hour to start later, if needed.
- Once you have defined these possibilities, you will go to the "Invitation" page to click on whoever you want to be in this conversation.
- An invitation will then be sent to everyone to participate.
- Once you have such a conversation, it will appear on the "Discussions" page, so that you can make the same video call again with the exact same people more easily.
