Yes, it is again the Android developer who has a messenger ready. Why again? Well, Google had tried four years ago with "Allo" and "Duo" to change the messenger market. Unsuccessful. Google Duo is still available as a video chat app and runs in parallel to Google Hangouts.
The next attempt now follows. With “Messages”, Google doesn't just want to offer a real WhatsApp alternative. Messages already has one advantage today: the app is preinstalled on almost all new Android smartphones. However, there is a disadvantage: Google Messages are not yet available for the iPhone users.
