Spotify Kids is a new app designed to protect the safety and privacy of children over 3 years old. You can choose "for adults" or "for children" according to the age of the child, and various parental control functions are available, so you can use the Spotify service at home even with your child at ease.
The songs provided by Spotify Kids are carefully selected so that they are suitable for children to listen alone and to enjoy together with their families. There are also playlists for children.
Spotify Kids was released in Ireland last October. Since then, it has been offered gradually in several countries, but from today it is also available in Japan and Germany.
We tested the app and we were very satisfied with what it offers for the little ones and the security it provides by having content curated by developers and not by algorithms. Parents have access to the listening history and ability to block specific content.
Spotify Kids Functions:
- More than 170 playlists on special topics, e.g. B. Songs to fall asleep or bedtime stories.
- Radio play classics for kids.
- Soundtracks for current cinema highlights.
- One focus is on education: there are knowledge songs for learning numbers or the alphabet, as well as knowledge formats such as “What is What”.
- In the current version, parents can have a more active say in the available content for children by viewing the respective streaming history and block certain songs or radio plays.
- The app design was specially adapted to the requirements and skills of the children.
