Samsung announces major update for Galaxy S9 series

Samsung supplies various Android smartphones with its newer One UI 2.5 software, which should also land on the S and Note devices from 2018.

The Samsung Galaxy S9 is now two and a half years old, but the new One UI 2.5 should still be available with an update for these former flagship smartphones. In passing and only in the small print, Samsung mentioned for which of the Galaxy smartphones the new interim update is definitely planned.

It is currently not entirely clear whether there are only minor feature updates or the complete One UI 2.5. The colleagues from Sammobile said that the mention of the devices for One UI 2.5 is maybe just a mistake by Samsung . Also listed is the somewhat younger Note 9, which appeared in late summer 2018.

One UI 2.5 brings a few improvements

From One UI 2.5, Samsung enables videos to be recorded in 21: 9, and the Pro mode allows more precise control of the audio recording. We can add audio memos to notes, write on PDFs, DeX can be used wirelessly, WiFi passwords are easier to share and reminders can be linked to locations and tasks.

Updates available on the following devices: Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G, S20 Ultra, S20 + 5G, S20 +, S20 5G, S20 / S10 5G, S10 +, S10, S10e, S10 Lite, S9, S9 + / Note10 + 5G, Note10 +, Note10 5G, Note10 , Note10 Lite, Note9 / Z Flip 5G, Z Flip, Fold 5G, Fold.
